Relate - Young People

Relate Counsellors help children and young children to grow in confidence so that they can cope with challenges, now and in the future.

Relate's Children and Young People's Counselling services offer a safe space for children and young people aged 5-25 to talk about the challenges they’re facing. This could be anything from body image and bullying to issues at home such as divorce and separation.

Perhaps your family is facing a big change or, you think you could relate to each other
better. Relate's family counsellors bring together parents and children, siblings and extended family members, including those from different generations and blended families. They’ll get you really talking and listening to each other so you can find a new way forward

Who is Relate for?

What does it cost?
Relate are an independent charity that relies on payments from clients to keep our service open to everyone. The cost to you will depend on your financial circumstances. Please contact them to find out how much you will pay.

Can I access free counselling?

Relate don't want cost to be a barrier. They work with a range of partners and have a number of ways to help you to access free or lowcost counselling. Contact them to find out more.

How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your situation, which service you’re accessing and your goals for therapy. This can be discussed this in your initial assessment.

Is it confidential?
Relate take confidentiality seriously. They’ll never give your name or any information about you to anyone outside of the organisation, unless they believe someone is at serious risk of harm.
