Selsey's Recreation Ground

What's Here

Open all year round; home to the Selsey Cricket Club; the ground is the perfect spot during the season to sit with a picnic and enjoy the thwack of leather on willow while the game is played before you. If you are not a fan, then simply bring a deckchair, blanket and book – perhaps borrowed from the library across the road – and while away the time in the sun.

The play park was installed in January 2021 and the design and equipment was chosen in consultation with local residents, the aim to provide facilities for a wide range of age groups. The wheelchair swing was installed after requests from residents and can be accessed with a RADAR key - the same that open disabled toilets.

An oasis of green space within the town centre. The Recreation Ground can be found behind Selsey Medical Centre and opposite The Academy Selsey.
Visitors from across the region come to this ground for popular annual events including:

• Selsey’s Beer & Rounders event
• Selsey All Stars Cricket Exhibition Matches
• Burnett’s Family Funfair bringing traditional rides such as dodgems and a waltzer every August.
• Car Boot Sales
