Selsey at War – A Rare Glimpse into Our Wartime Past

August 15, Friday

10:30 - 16:00

Selsey Pavilion, High Street, Selsey, PO20 0QL

What's Here

Join us at the Selsey Pavilion for a special exhibition from the Selsey Photo Archive – “Selsey at War” – commemorating 80 years since VJ Day and the end of World War II.

As  the town’s VJ Day 80 anniversary commemoration, this exhibition shines a light on Selsey’s remarkable wartime role. During VE Day 80, residents enjoyed a taster of rarely seen photographs – now, Selsey Photo Archive is revealing even more from the archive.

Because Selsey was closed off for top secret operations during the war, very few photos were taken – making this collection truly special. These hidden gems capture the spirit of the town and its people during one of history’s most extraordinary times.

Come along and see if you can spot a familiar face – perhaps a neighbour, or even a relative!

Free entry. All welcome.

Don’t miss this unique chance to honour Selsey’s past and mark a significant moment in history.
